my latest experiment in sketchbook pro, trying to add a little more depth to the colors, it was pretty easy with this guy. this was for the latest topic over at artjumble, hillbillies. this is loosely based on an actual person i saw while working at geauga lake doing caricatures, after all the park was right next to Reminderville (yeah, that's a real town).

more caricaturist caricatures

three new caricatures for y'all, one's done in marker, one's in pencil and the other in photoshop. just another step on my never ending quest for the maximum possible exaggeration. it's nice to practice on other caricature artists because i know they can take it, and give me good advice on what i can improve upon. once in a while i feel i should give the extreme exaggeration a rest and try to improve my rendering and technique, but then faces like these come along and i cant help but focus on the exaggeration and not the actual drawing/painting, i guess it's something to work for. oh well, at least these three liked their caricatures. ok, enough rambling.

here's a caricature sketch i did today, trying to get back into photoshop. It's of Nick Cave, a pretty famous musician who, until i saw some recent caricatures done of him, i had only scarcely heard of. That's totally ok with me, since i find it easier to draw people who I'm not familiar with. He's the subject for the latest caricature jam over at drawingboard. after all, he's made to be caricatured.

Ghost Rider

here's my latest not caricature thing, its a bit of a cartoony version of ghost rider (obviously). this was done for "the brave and the bald" drawing jam at drawingboard, a thread for bald superheroes and supervillians. i figured that ghost rider's about as bald as you can get.
