Bear
Here's a lil' digital sketch i did the other day, nuthin special, finished up with some photoshop values of course.
It's Bear Grylls, host of Discovery's 'Man vs' Wild'. i'm a big fan of the show. Who doesn't like seeing someone beat apples out of bear crap. whenever i talk about this shoe it seems to bring up a lot of controversy, and conflicting views, especially concerning it's competition with 'Survivorman'.
I know my sociology professor prefers 'Survivorman'. As we're talking about hunting and gathering societies she goes on and on about how much better Stroud is than "Bear Gillis", making sure not to remember his name. I'm always tempted to pipe up and correct her.
Then there's the whole thing whether he's legitamately "surviving" like ol' Les Stroud, for me, who cares, it's tv, let him sleep in a hotel at night. They're both fun shows with cool little tips sprinkled about. for me, i get more bang for my buck with Man vs. wild. i want entertainment and Bear certainly delivers when he shows how to make a cozy abode out of a dead camel. i always look forward to new episodes.
(here's that clip i mentioned.)
thanks for taking a look

Kiedis Sketches.
I gave it a try on my red hot chili peppers caricature. since Anthony Kiedis is the latest subject of the e-caricatures contest i decided to do another. i would have let it be with my painting of the band but i had a few people who found the likeness on kiedis lacking relative to the others.
here's a couple of sketches in preparation of a final piece. the more cartooony one doesn't really capture a good likeness but i liked the looseness and the movement. on the other, it's very similar to the old one with some minor ,but important, changes made.

Bowie
Here are some caricature sketches of David Bowie, the subject of the latest caricature jam over at Drawingboard.org. I'm not all that familiar with him, i think all i know of him is what i saw in Zoolander and The Prestige, so i came into the drawings with fresh eyes.
these are just preliminary drawings, one of just Bowie and one of him as Ziggy Stardust. So, we'll see if i come up with something better.

More Caricatures
and here's the ref images.
Here's a few more Caricaturist caricatures I've done lately. a little experimentation, but for the most part playing it safe, i've really got to try a little harder, and these are the perfect way. i'm sure there will be more to come.

Pink
Every so often I've gotta throw up a picture of a pretty girl, you can get pretty bad at it without practice. Anyway, drew this the other day, thought i would share.
oh, and by the by, you'll see that this and my previous post are sporting my new artist signature, nothing fantastic but certainly not ass messy as my previous attempts.

The who.
This, as i can recall, is my first memory of The Who.
For the longest time after that Baba O'riley was their only song i ever heard. Recently, as in the last couple of years, i've gotten to know their catalog a bit better. By no means am i a Who expert, but i can say their probably my favorite old band. one of My first concerts was the Who as well, albeit i was simply listening from my backyard as they played the Pavilion in The Woodlands Texas. I guess it doesn't hurt that both my parents are Who fans, my mom being more of just a Roger daltrey fan, i got to hear plenty of them growing up, but i digress. Enough reminiscing, onto the art.
I decided to do up a caricature of the group. it's pretty quick, but i think it turned out pretty well. I still have reservations regarding the likenesses though, on Moon especially. anyway, let me know what you think
