Drapery study

an in class exercise from my drawing class. i think i pretty effectively got the sense of 3 dimensions. however, i didn't quite put enough into the rendering to really see the different materials. I'm not really that kind of artist though, sort of a big picture 'you get the idea" kind of artist.

anyway, let me know what you think.

I dig this drapery study. The linework is very confident and unorganized in a good way. In my honest opinion, it blows away your last few self-portraits a million-to-one

Thanks for the comment Matt, That was, for the most part, what i was going for. i didn't want to get caught up in tedious rendering, especially with such a mundane pattern.

I think you got something there comparing it to the self portraits. for some reason, i don't have that same mentality drawing a face, especially with that last one where everything was carefully measured.

i've got bring that spontaneity into my portrait work.

thanks again, got me thinkin.
