experiencing some technical difficulties...
Getting a little artistic block at the moment, cant come up with an idea that inspires me to pick up the pencil and draw, and when i do it seems to always come out disappointing.
soooo, i will be back shortly with what will most certainly be some marvelous artwork, but in the meantime here's another self portrait.

The real Lisbeth Salander
I find it amusing that everyone is so concerned about who will play the title Role in Hollywood's adaptation of 'The Girl with the dragon tattoo'. Don't they realize that it doesn't Matter. As Far as I'm concerned, Noomi Rapace, who played her in the Swedish version, IS Lisbeth Salander. Nobody could play the character better than that, so i think Fincher and the producers should stop sweating it, whomever they pick, she'll always be runner up.
whew, there, got my Movie nerd rant out. Anyway, i did up this caricature in tribute to the character that readers everywhere seem to have fallen in love with, and the Actress who captured her perfectly.

Sebastian Vettel
Still trying to really get a grasp on how to choose the proper colors for portraits. it's a subtle thing, you can't get too saturated or it looks too cartoony, and you cant gray it out too much or else they end up looking like the undead.
this and my hamilton painting are my first attempts at starting a caricature, in terms of my color palette, from scratch. i feel like i'm getting the hang of it.

That's Right...another one
That's more like it. i wasn't happy with my previous attempts at all when i had them done, they just weren't what i had in mind when we started this project. I wanted to do something unflattering, unsettling, even bordering on the grotesque. however, even with a ref where my face was so contorted it ended up being rather, i don't know, too nice.
I scoured my reference photos once more for a photo that suited what i had in mind. i came across one that had a rather unique angle and some really jarring color juxtapositions due to whatever the lighting conditions where and my crappy camera. I also cropped it close, just to emphasize the uncomfortable feel of it. i ended up with this, with which I'm much more pleased.
let me know what you think.
